Five checks on every contractor before they ever receive a job. Where a credential is issued by an Ontario authority, we verify it with that authority — not with the contractor.

    Licence

    Verified with the Ontario authority

    Trade credential verified directly with the authority that issues it — ESA for electrical, TSSA for gas and fuels, OCOT for other compulsory trades. Verified with the regulator, never taken from the contractor.

    Insurance

    Certificate reviewed and tracked

    Liability certificate collected and read, not just ticked. The expiry date is stored, and the contractor is warned at 30 and 7 days before it lapses.

    WSIB

    Clearance confirmed where required

    Workplace Safety and Insurance Board clearance confirmed where the trade and job type require it. Not every sole operator is required to carry it, so this is checked against the work rather than applied blanket.

    Business

    Identity and service area checked

    Business name, service area and contact details checked before approval, so the company that turns up is the company you were matched with.

    Standing

    Reviewed on an ongoing basis

    Verification is not a one-off. Job history, sign-offs and verified reviews are reviewed continuously, and credentials are re-checked before they expire. Contractors who repeatedly fail homeowners lose platform access.
