Is VerifiedPros really free for homeowners?
Yes, completely. Homeowners never pay anything — not to post, not to match, not ever. We only make money when a contractor completes a job: they join free, pay no monthly fee, and pay 8% when the job is completed and invoiced, capped at $400.
How do you verify contractors?
We check every contractor's licence directly with the provincial authority — ESA for electricians, TSSA for HVAC and plumbers, OCOT for other trades. We also verify WSIB clearance and review their insurance certificate.
How quickly will I be matched?
Your job is dispatched to a verified contractor the moment you post it — there is no queue and no waiting for someone to notice it. How fast you hear back depends on the trade and the time of day; jobs posted in the evening are typically picked up the next morning.
What if I'm not happy with the work?
Our 30-day resolution guarantee means we'll facilitate a resolution between you and your contractor. Contractors who don't make it right don't stay on our platform.
What trades do you cover?
We cover 14 trade categories including electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, roofers, appliance repair, windows and doors, masonry, deck builders, carpenters, tilers, painters, flooring specialists, and water and fire restoration.
For big projects do I still get just one contractor?
Under $5,000, and on every emergency job, you get exactly one verified contractor — matched by us and dispatched to you exclusively. From $5,000 up we invite two verified contractors to quote instead, because on a spend that size you deserve a reference point before you commit. That still is not a bidding war: we choose both, we verify both with ESA, TSSA or OCOT, and your number never goes to anyone else. At $15,000 and above both are expected to visit the site before quoting. Your 30-Day Resolution Guarantee applies whichever one you pick.
