Terms of Service

VerifiedPros is an online marketplace that connects Ontario homeowners with licensed, insured, and verified trades contractors for home repair and renovation jobs. We facilitate introductions between homeowners and contractors but are not a party to any service agreement between them.

VerifiedPros facilitates residential trades work typically ranging from $150 to $15,000 per job. Jobs outside this range may be accommodated at platform discretion. VerifiedPros does not guarantee the quality, safety, or outcome of any work performed by contractors listed on our platform.

By registering as a contractor on VerifiedPros, you represent and warrant that:

• All credentials, licence numbers, WSIB account numbers, and insurance information you provide are accurate, current, and belong to you or your registered business.
• You hold all required licences and certifications for the trade(s) you advertise on the platform, and you will maintain those credentials in good standing for as long as your account remains active.
• You carry valid general liability insurance and WSIB coverage (or an approved independent operator exemption) throughout your time on the platform.
• You will conduct yourself professionally with homeowners, respond to accepted job leads within 2 hours, and complete agreed work to a reasonable standard.
• You will not solicit homeowners to pay outside the platform or misrepresent the scope or price of work agreed through VerifiedPros.

Contractors who provide false credentials, fail to respond to accepted leads, accumulate unresolved complaints, or violate these obligations may have their accounts suspended or permanently removed without notice.

By posting a job on VerifiedPros, you represent and warrant that:

• The job description you provide is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. Deliberately misleading or withholding information that affects the scope of work is a violation of these terms.
• You are the owner or authorised occupant of the property where work is to be performed, or you have the legal authority to authorise the work.
• You will provide safe and reasonable access to the property for the matched contractor at the agreed time.
• You agree to pay the contractor the amount agreed at the time of booking. Withholding payment without a legitimate dispute is a violation of these terms.

VerifiedPros charges the following fees:

• Contractor subscription: $99 CAD per month, billed monthly. The subscription grants access to AI-matched job leads in your registered service zones. Subscriptions may be paused or cancelled at any time from the contractor dashboard.
• Platform fee: 6% of the homeowner-confirmed job amount, charged to the contractor upon completion. This fee covers verification, matching, and platform operations.

Homeowners are not charged a platform fee. Posting jobs is free.

Fees are subject to change. We will provide at least 30 days’ notice of material fee changes to active contractors.

VerifiedPros offers a 30-Day Resolution Guarantee on all completed jobs facilitated through our platform. This is a facilitation commitment, not a warranty or guarantee of workmanship.

What we commit to: If a homeowner raises a concern about a completed job within 30 days of the job being marked complete, VerifiedPros will:

• Acknowledge the concern within 2 business days
• Contact the matched contractor to hear their account
• Facilitate a resolution conversation between both parties
• Document the outcome and update the job record accordingly

What this is not: The 30-Day Resolution Guarantee is not an insurance policy, a workmanship warranty, or a financial guarantee. VerifiedPros does not guarantee the outcome of any resolution process, does not accept liability for work performed by contractors, and does not commit to financial compensation of any kind under this guarantee.

How to make a claim: Email support@verifiedpros.ca with your job ID and a description of the concern. Claims must be submitted within 30 days of the job completion date recorded in your dashboard.

Direct payments: Payments between homeowners and contractors are made directly (e-transfer, cash, cheque, or another agreed method). Where optional deposits are collected through Stripe, those funds are subject to the Stripe payment terms and our standard deposit release process.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VerifiedPros and its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Work performed or not performed by a contractor matched through our platform
• Inaccurate credential information provided by a contractor
• Disputes between homeowners and contractors regarding payment, quality, or scope
• Any interruption or unavailability of the platform

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the greater of $100 CAD or the fees you paid to VerifiedPros in the 3 months preceding the claim.

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of VerifiedPros after notice of updated terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
