Does the platform fee apply during my free subscription period?
Yes — the platform fee applies from your very first completed job, even while your subscription is free. "Free" means the monthly subscription is $0, not that the platform fee is waived. The fee (4%/2% for founding contractors, 6%/3% for all others) is collected after each job is completed via the invoice system. We need a payment method on file before you can start receiving leads.
How is the platform fee collected?
After you submit an invoice, VerifiedPros creates a fee item on your Stripe account automatically. These are collected monthly in a single consolidated invoice. You never pay per-lead — only when a job is actually completed and invoiced.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No credit card is needed to apply. However, once you're approved, you'll need to add a payment method within 7 days to start receiving job leads. We collect your platform fee (not a monthly subscription charge) from that method after each completed job.
What counts as an emergency job?
Emergency rates (9%/4.5%, capped at $500) apply when a job is marked HIGH urgency AND the trade is one of: Electrician, Plumber, HVAC Technician, Roofing, or Appliance Repair. Founding contractors get a reduced emergency rate of 6%/3%, capped at $350.
What if I don't use the platform invoice system?
Non-founding contractors who don't use the built-in invoice system pay a +1% surcharge on both tiers. Founding contractors are exempt from this surcharge. The system is quick — it pre-fills the homeowner's details and emails the invoice for you automatically.
How long is my free period?
Founding contractors (first 30 approved) get 6 months free. All others get 2 months free. After that, pricing steps up: $49/month for a few months, then $99/month flat. The platform fee on completed jobs applies throughout — only the subscription is free during the free period.
